Wow, an update.
My boss is really frustrating me. I do all the work and get none of the credit.
No one even knows my name around the office. When I do talk to someone they inevitably say, "oh, you're that intern."
Sadly, I'm an actual employee. If I wasn't one, I'd be the most abused intern in a department where lots of interns are being abused. I barely make above minimum wage, I get no benefits and have no rights (not even the ones the employment laws give me), but I am a fellow employee, bitches.
Today I worked all day while everyone else partied around me. Well, they did for a few hours, then they all left and I stayed and worked. My boss was supposed to be getting a comp day by "working" from home. Well I emailed her a bunch of questions at 10:30 in the morning and didn't get a response until 4:00. At that point she wanted me to run around to all the producers and spread her generally bitchiness. I lucked out in that they had all left long before that time. Then later she sent me a bunch of work which I had to stay an additional 2 hours to do and didn't end up leaving until almost 7:00. That sucked.

Meme Meme
In other news, I've been working.
I went out of town for Labor Day and came home to voicemails and missed calls from someone I didn't want to talk to. It must have been some kind of weakness, or jetlag, but I picked up as I was about to go to bed. So I started working the next morning, (which also happened to be when our house was getting tent and I was moving in to a hotel with my parents.) I've been there pretty much non-stop ever since. They started me off at a pretty high day rate, and were paying me too much, but kept extending me, so I didn't say anything. (Despite not having time to do anything else, like update, renew my gym membership, eat...) Recently I got offered a permanent part-time job at a very low hourly rate. I took it because I've already been offered a better job on another show, and I want to be around when the opportunity opens up. Plus, it's not like I've had any time to find another job or anything. I recently got a cubicle which I'm gladly sharing with interns, so maybe there will be an update from my new work computer soon...
