I'm sitting here in the pb's bed because it's the best spot to steal someone's internet connection in his apartment. It smells nice, in that I mean it smells like him. He's working, I'm just filling time. I think I'll go out for a walk later and see if I can get my nails done (it helps that it's not 30 degrees outside, more like 55). I feel kind of weird hanging out in his room during the day time. Many girls would be jealous, as they should be ;) I'll probably sleep in here tonight, until then I'll just deal.

Called Disneyland earlier and bought a brick. Today was the last day to get a 50th anniversary brick at the special passholder price. Of course I waived until the last minute to do so. I was on hold so long I was worried my phone would die. Now I'm kind of rethinking the way I had our names laid out, I might have to live with it.

That's about all. No real plans for tonight, but that's ok. This is the first year in a long time that I didn't have to give up New Year's Eve because it was my grandma's birthday. I don't feel guilty at all for abandonning my family to just sit around here and chill. I made the plane reservation early so I could leave them high and dry before any of them did it to me ;)

i just made a 14.4 connection to the internet using my iBook and my v710 from a few feet away. Yea wireless, yea Bluetooth, boo 14.4. It took 2 minutes just to sign on and another minute to load. My plan only has 400 minutes per month, sheesh. Still can't send or receive files in either direction or use iSync to update from iCal. I don't want to update my calendar and contacts, though. I want to transfer pictures! I sense a memory card in my future.

    Finally!
I got my V710 tonight at the Verizon store. Yes!
I asked the salesgirl if I could use the Bluetooth capabilities to connect to my iBook. She told me I could. It's disabled, and she lied when I questioned her about what it can and can't do. I still wanted the phone regardless.
While she was programming my phone I realized why the girl seemed so familiar. She sold me a crappy phone 2 and a half years ago. How did I realize it was her? She kept coughing and wiping her nose and TOUCHING MY PHONE! Disgusting.
I have lost my train of thought. I think I will go use disinfectant on my hands now.

    Blah and humbug
I get really tired of people ending calls by saying "Merry Christmas." "Happy Holidays" too. If I had a happy holiday it was last week.

    I think that...
Someone should buy thatshot.com and dedicate it to how useless Paris Hilton is. I fear that may be more attention than she deserves, though.

Can someone start a rumor that Jennifer Lopez's marriage is on the rocks? I'm bored and I think that would be entertaining right about now.

I just read an article about people counterfeiting those yellow "Live Strong" bracelets. How sad. I actually took the time to google the Lance Armstrong Foundation and found that the smallest package size is 10. Maybe the counterfeting losers should just buy the bracelets in bulk and sell them at a mark up so the cancer charity gets their money and all the lameass wannabes who wear them as a status symbol don't have to buy 10. There is a 3-4 week backorder right now, so people will have to get their designer duds elsewhere for Christmas.

What I want to know is, do they cause cancer? I've seen this documentary on HBO called Blue Vinyl about how manufacturing vinyl (PVC) causes some nasty cancers. There's a giant PVC plant in Lake Charles, LA and the area has become the country's second largest cancer cluster. The yellow bracelets are made out of silicone. Well at any point in making silicone does it cause cancer? By selling them for a dollar do they make enough money to cure the cancers their causing? I wonder about these things...

Every time I try to configure my router to change the name of my network or ask for a password it wouldn't accept the changes. I posted on a message board asking for advice and was told to update the firmware. Well I followed the instructions on Belkin's website and the thing stopped working.

I called Belkin for support, and after an hour of talking to someone who I could barely understand they told me that I voided the warranty by updating the firmware without calling to have them walk me through it. I asked if that meant I now had a useless $80 week old piece of junk and they said yes.

Well, after seeking future advice and getting chewed out by my parents I called back this morning and went through another half hour with a guy who I could understand only slightly better. After I told him that I followed Belkin's instructions and nowhere did it say I was voiding my warranty he seemed to think he could get the router working again. In the end they decided to submit my request for a free replacement. I'm waiting to get a call back.

Justice League Unlimited sucks. Ok, Wonder Twins are cool. (In this episode - Ultimatum). The fact that they have Aquaman (my favorite superhero) is cool. And I liked the episode with the reluctant Green Arrow storyline. But other than that it's just a bunch of lame fighting with no story. And worse, they try to add dialogue to the fighting, but it doesn't make any sense.

I was thinking, I could just sit in front of the TV every day and write about TV. I probably won't, but damn it would be easy.

An aside to USC fans. It's a football game, not a Playstation. You don't get to pick the plays, so shut the fuck up.

Well I'm off to the UCLA game. It's pretty sad, it's the last game a local team will be playing at the Rose Bowl this season - UCLA because they suck and USC because they're going to the BCS Championship. It's a lose/lose situation. Now it will be 2 more years before I get a chance to see UCLA kick the crap out of USC live and in person. Oh well.

    Awesome.
I just finished playing Ribbit King for the first time. That game is hysterical. Drop what you're doing and shell out $19.99 right now. I love the referee. If he liked women, I'd marry him.

Funny thing is, I looked for Ribbit King at my local Fry's twice in the last few weeks (and once at another Fry's). The other day I was returning a router and decided to just glance at the self. When I couldn't find it I thought about buying Harvest Moon instead, but put it back. Then I spotted a lone copy of Ribbit King tucked away on the shelf. I'm so happy, I've wanted this game for awhile.

Today I saw that Harvest Moon is $17.99 at Fry's. If I had a job or money I would probably buy that one too. I also want a Mac game. I'm thinking Civilization III, since I had Civilization II on my old Mac. Sims 2 is coming out for Mac in May. I'm thinking I'll need to get some more RAM (and a mouse) by then.

I'm planning a long update on what I've been up to the last few months. Maybe some time this weekend. It sure is easy now that I have an iBook and I can just sit in front of the TV and type.

I went ahead and switched my hosting awhile back. Logjamming was great, but I couldn't come up with the $60 upfront for another year with my summer hiatus/lay-off and the shit money I was making at my now former job.

I had lapsed awhile ago and they never caught on. I felt like I should pay for the time they didn't notice, but if I had the money I would have paid in the first place.

Well anyway, I used my email address at this domain to do the switch, and forgot to write down the new passwords and such. Then when I switched the DNS servers all my old emails went away. Fortunately I had backed up everything else, though files are slightly more replaceable than passwords. Eventually I got it all sorted out.

In the future if Logjamming has a plan that works for me I hope I can go back to them. We'll see what happens.
